This is a community dedicated to discussing the Bach Flower Remedies, our use of them, and the emotional states which can be helped by them. All are welcome whether qualified practitioners, long-time users, occasional users, or just wanting to find out more.
As the subtitle of this community (drawn from one by Dr Bach) suggests, the Bach Flower Remedies are intended to be a self-help resource:
"I want to make it as simple as this: I am hungry, I will go and pull a lettuce from the garden for my tea. I am frightened and ill, I will take a dose of Mimulus."
Since the BFRs, unlike homoeopathic remedies, are made from benign substances, and since, unlike some herbal medicines, the active ingredients in BFRs are present in minute doses, these remedies are normally considered safe for self-prescription and do not tend to produce a strong physical and mental 'aggravation' which needs close expert supervision. Therefore it seems quite appropriate for this community to discuss which remedy a particular emotional state might require, and to share our experiences with using the remedies on ourselves.
However, you should remember that no-one using this site, including myself, is necessarily qualified to give you medical advice. If you are going through a particularly strong emotional situation, get support from a Bach Flower practitioner, a counsellor, or at least some good friends. Bear in mind too that there are cases where BFRs should not be used, the most notable being with those who are on anti-alcohol prescriptions, since the remedies are generally preserved in alcohol. You are responsible for yourself!
"Thus, behind all disease lie our fears, our anxieties, our greed, our likes and dislikes. Let us seek these out and heal them, and with the healing of them will go the disease from which we suffer."
